Wastewater treatment plants often employ the use of wastewater lagoons for secondary treatment and storage of wastewater prior to reuse. Therefore, lining these lagoons with a synthetic membrane of a sufficiently low permeability is highly recommended to prevent contaminants from seeping into the soil and/or groundwater.
